Demonology is, very generally, the study of demons in a religious context. The term demon is typically used to describe spiritual entities that are malevolent in one way or another. It's worth noting, however, that the term comes from the ancient Greek word Daimon, a term used to describe a wide variety of spiritual entities, with or without malevolence. This category heading includes things like the Key of Solomon and the works of John Dee, and other "traditional" types of demonology, as well as anything related to "the devil" or "Satan."
