Rosicrucianism is a spiritual and cultural movement that arose in Europe in the early 17th century after the publication of several texts purported to announce the existence of a hitherto unknown esoteric order to the world and made seeking its knowledge attractive to many. The mysterious doctrine of the order is "built on esoteric truths of the ancient past", which "concealed from the average man, provide insight into nature, the physical universe, and the spiritual realm." The manifestos do not elaborate extensively on the matter, but clearly combine references to Kabbalah, Hermeticism, alchemy, and Christian mysticism. [from wikipedia]

Those familiar with Rosicrucianism may be surprised that there is little to no information presented here from active Rosicrucian Orders, namely, AMORC (The Ancient and Mystical Order Rosae Crucis). Before collecting and archiving material from any source (including public libraries), The Archivist attempts to contact the organization holding the files and asks specific permissions. A representative from AMORC responded to an inquiry from The Archivist on December 24, 2022 and asked that this website not host any of the materials offered freely on the AMORC website. It is the intention of this archivist to respect the wishes of any and all orders or organizations that produce the type of content our readers and researchers would be interested in. Please visit the Links page to find a plethora of archives and libraries with additional content. More specifically, please visit the AMORC Online Library for a wide variety of free material. While it is possible to download all the content on their website and collect it for your personal use, please respect the wishes of the organization and instead of distributing these works, direct interested parties to their website.

Similarly, the Confraternity of the Rose Cross has a wonderful collection of modern essays on their website.
